Mar del Plata is a  coastal city of  Argentina which  is located on the Atlantic Ocean coast about 230 miles (370 km) south-southeast of Buenos Aires city.

‘Mardel’ is the classic Argentine beach destination, 400km down the coast from the capital city. It is most popular for combination of people  from all over the country . If you are thinking about the enjoying beach on a summer weak end , definitely , you will get too much crowd  on the beach .There might be a couple of places where you could get in a few swimming strokes without taking somebody’s eye out, but mostly it’s shoulder-to-shoulder bodies: not exactly a relaxing getaway.

After spending a few days on its comically packed sands, watching street performers on the beach side Plaza Colón or exploring the wonders of the port, however, you might get the sense of adoration that the country feels for this place. Mar del Plata has historic charm: it used to be a glamorous seaside resort in the 1920s and ’30s, a fact you’ll notice in the elegant architecture and the antique photos displayed everywhere in town, from hotel lobbies to cafes to postcards.

If you’re here during the week, and especially outside of summer, you’ll really start to get the appeal of the place. The crowds disperse, hotel prices drop and the place takes on a more relaxed feel. Out-of-season visitors will find that Mardel is a large and interesting city with plenty of cultural attractions, many of them connected by the pedestrian thoroughfares of downtown or the oceanfront promenade that winds along the high cliffs of the city’s curving coastline.

BEACHES IN MAR DEL PLATA

La Perla Beach: La Perla Beach is one of the original beaches of the city. Close to this area are some of the oldest neighborhoods and typical commercial and leisure areas. As one of the top tourist sites, La Perla Beach received its name because Mar del Plata is known as “la Perla” (the pearl) of the Atlantic. The area has many important seaside resorts with great beach access.

Bristol Beach: Bristol Beach is located near Torreón del Monje, an important viewpoint of the city. Next to the beach is the Gran Hotel Provincial, a project done by the architect Alejandro Bustillo in 1946. The hotel’s fabulous location has made it a favorite for those visiting Mar del Plata.

Varese Beach: If you follow Colon Avenue, it will take you to Varese Beach and Cape Corrientes. This area offers excellent views making it a great place to go for a walk. Additionally, there are many bars and restaurants in the area where you can sample the local cuisine.

Chica Beach and Grande Beach: Following the coast towards the south, you will come to a particularly charming area. The beaches are located between magnificent rock outcrops with parks and green areas around them. This zone is very close to the city’s port and probably offers some of the best amenities for beach goers.

The southern beaches: These are probably the most popular beaches for the younger generations. The beaches are further away from the hustle and bustle of the city and close to a magnificent forested area. Due to their location, these beaches boast cleaner waters and exclusive resorts. The development of this area came from the need of the tourism industry. Although tourists here are a bit further from Mar del Plata, the resorts are equipped with excellent infrastructure, services and amenities. Some offer aquatic sport options as well as 4X4 vehicle rentals to complete your Argentine adventure.

Escondida Beach: This beach is located among the southern beaches. The surrounding area is typical of the Atlantic with wilderness areas, dunes and beautiful cliffs. Escondida Beach has a remote location away from the city maintaining its untouched landscape of meadows and small woods with large bird populations. Additionally, Escondida Beach is proud to have been the first nudist beach in Argentina
